bill grumpy jenkins put 850 baseplates on his 600 holley main bodies for his dual carb tunnel ram back in the early 70s. don't know if he blended the venturi into the baseplate like you did. what makes a 850 double pumper holley is the baseplate on a 800 dp body

I read an article about exhaust systems and it stated that a simple one pipe exhaust with no muffler would make more power but the length of the pipe would make it unfeasible for a vehicle as it would not be able to fit. Now this is for a stock application and the article was in a Popular Science or Popular Mechanics magazine back in the seventies.

I tried both on my Toyota 89 Hilux with 3y engine....with manifold vacuum after several thousand kms springs broke inside my electronic distributor while decelerating and with heavy load, dizzy destroyed. So never again. It's obvious that as you accelerate you need advancement of spark....pedal accelerate vacuum accelerate/advance....PORTED! But I agree that some stock carbureted engines are originally on manifold vacuum...Keep it as engineers designed it! Well explained sir

I just watched a video on a guy’s UA-cam channel, Muscle Car Solutions, where he got a carb spacer from, Polymer Racing Products, where they have dimpled the inside of the spacer.
